Kingston, NY, October 22, 2023 - Big Cat Studio hosted 'The Lovebugs Act II' Art Party, a vibrant and inclusive celebration, on the evening of October 21, 2023. The event, conceptualized by the renowned mixed media pop artist Amelia C. Williams, marked an artistic triumph that brought together the talents of various BIPOC artists from the Hudson Valley.
The Lovebugs, an original immersive project by Amelia C. Williams, unveiled its Act II at the event, incorporating fresh pieces and experiences to create an innovative environment inspired by the venue. Attendees were treated to a night brimming with artistic expression and cultural vibrancy.
The highlight of the evening was the captivating live performance by the experimental hip hop artist ARRI + friends, accompanied by the soulful beats of Ayo Nish!, setting the stage for a dynamic hip hop and R&B dance party. Attendees captured memorable moments with the carefully curated 'The Lovebugs' immersive exhibition, designed to inspire striking photo opportunities.
The event also featured additional attractions, including flash tattoos by Luis Miguel Gil, designed in collaboration with The Lovebugs, and the 'Let It Out!' art tent, a collaborative space for unrestricted artistic expression, presented by River Valley Guild and The Lovebugs.
Throughout the night, attendees had the opportunity to contribute to The Black Library, an organization dedicated to celebrating Black culture and history, and fostering creativity and education within the community of Sullivan County, New York. The event encouraged guests to donate books specifically related to the experiences of people of color or to contribute directly to The Black Library.
Amped Panadas provided delectable culinary offerings, including a range of gluten-free and vegan options, while refreshing tequila and mezcal drinks complemented the evening's festivities.
